Asked the chef what he preferred, chicken or pork rice bowl. Got the pork bowl & MAN! So good! Perfect amount of everything, including spices for the perfect price.

I have had so much spicy salty squid in my life and loved it so I figured this place would be right up my alley ...
The squid is sooooooo sooooo tender and somehow crispy at the same time... it was ... well .. magical ...
The seasoning on the squid was perfect with just a hint of warmer spices that i could not decipher ...five spice ?? Anise ??? Miracle powder?
The pork and noodle spring rolls reminded me
Of a much tastier lumpia
And the owner is so adorable and friendly.
Definitely a gem in this food cart pod...

Been flowing these guys since back in 2015 when they would do the Gresham market on the weekend. Over the years when they announced where they would be, I would clear my calendar for the salt and pepper squid.
A few weeks ago they announced that they had a cart with a location. When the announcement was made that they were going to be a few mins from my house I was filled with joy. It was like a long lost friend moved away and announced they were coming back!
Opening day. Ordered 2 of the salt and pepper squid. One for me, one for the wife. The countdown was intense. After our order was called, we sat down. The first bite..... soooooo good! It's everything I remember. The squid is done just right. It's actually hard for me to describe it. But the word perfect comes to mind. It comes on a bed of rice topped with seasoned onions.
We've been back a few times. Service is great. Food is consistent. I will be going back as long as they keep making it. Been wanting to try the sausage but it's hard to try something other than the squid. They claim they have the best salt and pepper squid and they rightfully earned that title!
Can't say enough good about the small business. Other than I think I know what I'm having for dinner tonight. -

Ive only been here twice in the past 2 weeks and ive only went for OMG its the best fastest salt and pepper squid with rice around portland. Some really nice coworkers left a plate of it for me; one bite of it i knew where it came from. I went back for a third and it still makes my heart sing when i eat this awesome salt and peppers. I haven't tried the other potentially awesome dishes there, but i know where to get my precious salt and pepper squid.
